Microsoft SQL Sample Code
Deleting All Records in a Table - Truncate Table
This sql script is very useful for deleting all rows in a table quickly. Sometimes you need to delete all records in a table quickly. By default, when a record is deleted SQL Server will write the deleted record to the transaction log. This can be very useful if a record is incorrectly deleted and you need to recover it. However, if you are trying to delete a large table with a lot of records, this can make the delete process take a long time and it may quickly fill up the Transaction Log. Using the method below will quickly delete all records in the table and not write any data to the transaction log.
